Our Origins
About Cornerstone
In biblical times, a cornerstone was used as the foundation and standard upon which a building was constructed. That same principle is used for us as we build upon our spiritual lives. Once Christ has taken His place in our lives, He shall never be moved, as it was with those buildings — if removed, the entire structure could collapse.
Cornerstone Church of Deliverance is built upon the Lord being the Builder of our house and our ministry (Psalm 127:1). Don’t reject Him. Receive Him today because the Stone which the builders rejected has become the chief Cornerstone.

Our vision is to see the saints perfected for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ.
The mission of the Cornerstone Church is to win souls for the glory of God by the teaching and preaching of God’s Word through Bible study, evangelism, mission work, and Christian education. We will accomplish our mission by using the resources of the various ministries, auxiliaries, and organizations of the church to reach out beyond our walls to the community and mankind.
In all that we do, we will be led by the Holy Spirit, following and embracing the gospel doctrine, ensuring that our efforts are Bible-based and Christ-led in righteousness.

Meet Our Pastors
Pastor
H. Rodney Hurst
Pastor H. Rodney Hurst was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, the eldest of four children. He is a faithful and devoted husband of one wife, Evangelist Connie Hurst, and committed father.
Pastor Hurst is a preacher of holiness and a student of the Word. He served in many capacities as part of the Central Holiness Church of Deliverance of Atlanta for most of his life, most notably serving as an associate minister under the leadership of the late founder and visionary Apostle J. T. Barnett and First lady Blondine Barnett. His love for God’s people is demonstrated not only within the church but outside its walls as he faithfully serves in his community
Pastor Hurst has a passion for people and loves visiting the sick and shut-in. In his own words, “My desire is to do nothing less than to please God and to spread the message of love and truth to the world. Not just to talk it but live it!”
On November 30, 2014, Pastor Hurst received his Certificate of Ordination as was solemnly and publicly set apart and ordained to the work of the Gospel Ministry. In May 2016, Pastor Hurst founded Cornerstone Ministries, Inc., with a sincere desire to administer the church according to the Word of God.

Lady Consuelo “Connie” Hurst
Consuelo Hurst affectionately called First Lady or Lady Hurst is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. Her mother, Tanza Barnett-Jewell was a devoted member and choir director of Disciples of Faith Holiness Church and faithfully raised her and her two sisters in the church from very young age. She acquired her passion for ministering to others as a youth, often spending her free time recreating her mother’s living room into a make-believe church and worship center.
As a teen, Lady Hurst became a member of Central Holiness Church where her grandfather Apostle J.T. Barnett was the founder and senior pastor. There she met and married her husband, Pastor Harrio Rodney Hurst in 2002. The two raised their four children and Lady Hurst continued to mature in the ministry, developing her natural gift for evangelism and fervent worshipping.
Lady Hurst continued as a humble parishioner of Central Holiness Church for over 19 years and was ordained Evangelist by Apostle J.T. Barnett. She also served in various ministries in Central Holiness including the Choir and Praise Team and regularly traveled across the country supporting her Apostle as well as The Christ United Five-Fold Fellowship, ultimately becoming a member- which is now under the leadership of Apostle Larry Montgomery and Elect Lady Julia Montgomery-Nation of God Ministries, Houston Texas.
When her husband accepted the Call to minister his own church- Cornerstone Ministries, May 2016, Lady Hurst could be found tirelessly working alongside him in whatever capacity she was needed. She has continued to exemplify herself as a humble servant, dynamic evangelist, and teacher. Lady Hurst accepted her call to gospel ministry at an early age. Her ministry focuses on self-effacing service, powerful preaching and personable reaching always give God all the honor and praise. As she says, “To God be the Glory,” and “It Is So”.
